Be the Hands of Christ

As Vincentians, we see the Face of Christ in the Neighbors we serve and pray that they see His Face in us.

Faith in Action, Person to Person

We are Vincentians—members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization inspired by the Gospel. Through prayer, friendship, and person-to-person service, we grow spiritually while walking alongside Neighbors experiencing hardship in the Cape Fear Region.

Our 100% volunteer-led Conference offers compassionate, practical support to help local families remain fed, connected to utilities, safely housed, and moving toward greater stability.

Serving “Two by Two”

Following the example of Christ’s disciples, Vincentians visit Neighbors “Two by Two.” Through these personal Encounters, we listen without judgment, understand each household’s unique circumstances, and respond with compassion and respect.

We do not see those seeking help as clients. We see them as Neighbors, fellow community members, and friends.

Encouraged in Our Vincentian Mission

“By freely offering your God-given gifts and talents, you give eloquent witness to your faith in service to the building up of the Kingdom of God.”

—Pope Leo XIV, addressing the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA

Pope Leo XIV thanked Vincentians throughout the United States for their devoted service and reminded them that prayer and action on behalf of social justice are inseparable.
