Our Conference History
In March of 2024 a group of parishioners at St. Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington, NC began the process of establishing a St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) conference to eventually encompass all parishes in the Cape Fear Deanery.
After months of persistence and a lot of prayers, the St. Vincent de Paul (SVdP) Our Lady of the Rosary, Cape Fear (CF) Conference, was commissioned on September 27, 2024 the feast of St. Vincent de Paul. Although part of a large family, 800,000 lay Catholics across over 150 countries., we have been formed as a regional family, serving people in need throughout the Cape Fear Area of North Carolina.
In these formative years, we have been blessed to serve over 500 Neighbors in need. Our conference is a growing family of Vincentians from the 12 Catholic Churches and 1 University in the Cape Fear Deanery. We delight in helping our Neighbors discover the joy of freedom and self-sufficiency.
Everyone is our Neighbor. We go, “Two-by-Two” as Vincentians to homes of people who are struggling to feed their families, keep utilities on, and a roof over their heads. God’s love is shared with a calm, receptive voice, an attentive ear, and the assurance that someone cares.
If a Neighbor needs help, we want to be there. Each Neighbor is unique and their circumstances are special to the SVDP Our Lady of the Rosary, CF Conference.

One never knows the time or place God will send the Holy Spirit to enlighten us. Being blessed to lead this conference and its wonderful Vincentians, I listen for words of wisdom daily.
At Sunday worship, the Responsorial Psalm — Psalm 138 led me to a new direction in servant leadership. Sometimes, we may pray for something and receive an answer that we did not expect. At other times, we may wonder why God allowed a difficult situation
to continue. Even then, we can trust His wisdom. God sees the complete picture when we can see only a small part of it.
As you read these words, He will enlighten you too…
R: Lord, your love is eternal; do not forsake the work of your hands.
The Psalm encourages us to trust God’s unfailing love. Even when we face difficulties, his kindness does not disappear.
